Almost 500 high school students from the counties of Girona (specifically twelve educational centers of Girona (3), Torroella, Cassà, Vilablareix, Salt, Banyoles, Sant Feliu de Guíxols (2), Anglès and L’Escala) invaded -pactically- the Faculty of Letters of the University of Girona to celebrate the VII Conference of Philosophy, where they debated on “Image, truth and power”. After the presentation, the students were divided into more than thirty groups to reflect on the proposed topic and then share the conclusions they reached in a joint session.

The conference ended with a lecture by Prof. Xavier Antich “Images and things: a reflection on truth, power and visual rhetoric”.

This conference is the result of a previous work done in all the participating institutes, doing previous work and debates through an on-line platform where the materials of the different participants are shared. This philosophical day is an opportunity for students to reflect on a topic that has to do with today’s society, to express their opinions and to come into contact with the university.
