Lecture series "Three conferences on Progress"

With this cycle, the Ferrater Mora Chair wanted to address the issue of progress and how philosophy, medicine and classical thought can contribute to it.

Thus, the outstanding philosopher Xavier Rubert de Ventós inaugurated this cycle on 29 November with the conference “Does philosophy contribute to progress? (See the press dossier)

On 13th December, under the title “Does medicine contribute to progress?”, the renowned cardiologist Ramón Brugada, dean of the UdG Faculty of Medicine, gave the second lecture in the series, in which, based on his experience in the United States, he set out the lines that the healthcare industry should follow in order to contribute to the progress of humanity, lines that are often far removed from the current reality.(See the press dossier)

Finally, on 20 December, the third conference took place, entitled “Does classical thought contribute to progress?”, given by Joan Manuel del Pozo, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Girona - where he has been Vice-Rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer - and member of the Governing Council of the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation (CCMA).
