Contemporary Philosophy. Ten philosophy books of the 21st century to keep up to date

The course “Contemporary Philosophy. Ten philosophy books of the 21st century to keep up to date”, organised in collaboration with the Casa de Cultura de Girona, took place from 22 March to 31 May 2022 and was given by Alba Padrós and Max Pérez (researcher contracted by the Ferrater Mora Chair).

Philosophy is not dead. Today, not only are there still philosophers, but some of them even think in an original way. There are great philosophical theories that coexist with us, that are contemporary to us, just as past philosophical theories were also contemporary to their contemporaries. In this course, we tried not to overlook them and to offer an overview of the philosophy of the last twenty years (the philosophy of the 21st century) in order to be up to date. Thus, in each session, a book and its author were discussed. In a traditional format, no doubt, but with an important difference: almost all the philosophers they talked about are alive, as are their ideas.
