Notes on the aesthetics of Hindu art

Jordi Tormo Capdevila, professor of Philosophy and Art History at secondary school, led the third of the Raimon Panikkar Library Collection Readings organized by the Raimon Panikkar Seminar on Intercultural Thought and the Library of the University of Girona. The lecture was entitled “Notes on the aesthetics of Hindu art” and was held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

The proposal focused on an introductory walk through some of the predominant aesthetic concepts within Hindu art. Focusing mainly on architecture and sculpture, to, subsequently, have a special incidence on the concept of “rasa” and its implications in artistic representation.
