Knowledge, reflection and criticism

This course, organised by the Ferrater Mora Chair at a distance and online, in collaboration with the philosophy portal www.terricabras-filosofia.info, took place from 5 to 23 July 2010.

The aim of the course was to provide students with the tools to critically reflect on some of the values that have been valid until now and that should govern our lives in the 21st century. Often the best way to face the future is to take a look at the past. Therefore, it seems that the best way to ask ourselves about the values that should govern our lives at the beginning of the third millennium is to review the values that have been in force up to now in order to build a new edifice of values, which is not the result of uncritical impositions but of slow and mature reflection.
