Lecture by Daniel R. Esparza "Forgiveness in Walter Benjamin"

On Friday, May 25, at 10.00h, at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Girona, Dr. Daniel R. Esparza (Columbia University) gave the lecture “Forgiveness in Walter Benjamin”.

Daniel Esparza (Caracas, 1978) is a professor in the Department of Religion at Columbia University (USA) and is an expert on Spanish Baroque mysticism and Walter Benjamin. In his talk he presented his recent research on forgiveness in general and on the contradiction of the fact that Walter Benjamin, despite having spent a lot of time reflecting on guilt and debt, wrote very little on forgiveness.

The conference was organized in collaboration with the Walter Benjamin Chair at the University of Girona.
