Joan Crexells

Joan Crexells (1896-1926) was one of the most significant representatives of the so-called second generation of the Noucentist movement. Cosmopolitan and nationalist at the same time, he was endowed with a solid and broad education. This background enabled him to reflect on a wide variety of subjects from various fields of knowledge.

In 2016 the proceedings of the Symposium were published in Documenta Universitaria. Here you can find more information.

On February 15th, 2017, at the Sala Sagarra of the Ateneu Barcelonès, the presentation of the book took place. Isabel Turull, Joan Crexells’ granddaughter and professor at the University of La Sapienza in Rome (who took the opportunity to give a lecture the next day at the UdG on Riba and Crexells: consequences of a truncated friendship); Jordi Casassas, president of the Ateneu Barcelonès; Norbert Bilbeny, professor of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona (who collaborated in the organization of this event), and Joan Vergés, director of the Ferrater Mora Chair, all spoke.
